An easy to use, real time 3D Virtual Reality (VR) software package for the personal computer.

UC-Win Road.

Dynamic 3D spaces can be controlled in real time. The program gives the ability to view the surrounding landscape; provide design and construction consultation; allow the visual examination of alternative project options; animation of vehicle movements; and driving simulation.

The developed 3D models can then be used for consultation with local communities and authorities.UC-win/Road is able to take data from a number of different CAD and modeling software packages using a variety of formats. This allows the development of 3D models of large areas of the environment to be easily and quickly generated. Video and still images of these 3D models can then be easily created for use in presentations.

2002 SOFTIC Award

SOFTWARE PRODUCT OF THE YEAR

UC-win/Road was awarded the SOFTIC Software Product of the Year 2002 in Japan. As a result, Forum 8 held a 3D virtual reality competition to enable users of UC-win/Road to demonstrate their developed 3D models to others. This has since become an annual event.

1st International VR Symposium

The ‘1st International VR Symposium’ was held at Forum 8’s head officein Nakameguro on November 20, 2007. Forum8 invited a team of academics and researchers from local and international universities to present their research papers, technologies, and ideas through an active discussion.

In this symposium, through the presentation of research results, the application of VR was examined. Our invited guest lecturer from Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), our partner company, delivered his speech which was well received by all.

UC-win/Road Drive Simulator

Customised booths utilising real car components are now available to create a driving simulator for use in road design and safety research; promotions and exhibitions of road designs and ITS Transportation systems and for driver training. This system includes the UC-win/Road software application allowing data creation to be used during the driving simulations.
